Alice Margarie Haas

Alice Haas, age 92, of Libertyville, was called home on April 11, 2012.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Behner Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. following the visitation, with Pastor Rick Smith officiating.

Alice Margarie Pattan was born in Burlington, Iowa on June 7, 1919 to Henry Martin and Emma Jane Speck Pattan. She married Richard Leo Haas on October 25, 1936 in Farmington, Iowa. Richard "Dick" preceded her in death on February 23, 1987. They had three children: Dwight Dean (Geri) Haas, Karen Jean (Rex) Tedrow of Libertyville and Terryl Duane (Kristin) Haas of California. Dwight preceded her in death on April 14, 1996. She has eight grandchildren: Tim (Mary) Tedrow of Fairfield, Alice Jolene (Mark Steele) Tedrow of Libertyville, Faye Marie (Jake Saner) Tedrow of Douds, Debra Lynn Haas of Georgia, James Richard (Amanda Gunderson) Tedrow of Libertyville, Kevin Eric (Terryn) Haas of Hobart, Indiana, Brian Jeffery Haas of Whiting, Indiana, Grace Korene (Mike Hamilton) Tedrow of West Point, 15 great-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, 15 step-great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

They farmed for many years southeast of Fairfield. Alice worked for several years at Patton's Sewing Center and Paint Store. They later purchased that business and started Haas Davis Paint and Wallpaper in 1970 and closed the business in 1975. In 1983, they moved from the farm, to Batavia and then in 2002, Alice moved to Libertyville.
