Alma Elizabeth Tucker

Alma Tucker, 90, a resident of Fairfield, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 05, 2011, at Parkview Care Center.

She was born January 11, 1920, in Elgin, Illinois, to John and Elizabeth Lang. On October 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to George L. Tucker in Chicago, Illinois. They moved to Fairfield in 1948.

Alma graduated from Roosevelt High School and the Metropolitan Business College in Chicago, Illinois. Alma worked for many years as a secretary at the Dexter Company and later for the Evans Insurance Agency in Fairfield. After her retirement, she spent fourteen years as a resident of Russellville, Arkansas, before returning to Fairfield in 2001.

She was a Christian and faithfully attended church throughout her life.

Alma leaves behind her son: Thomas J. Tucker of Richardson, Texas, 2 daughters: Nancy (Gerald) Pratt of Batavia, Iowa and Susan (Robert) Worley of Litchfield Park, Arizona, 8 grandchildren: Lisa Pratt, Lori Cochran, Christine Snyder, Mary Pratt, Matthew Tucker, Sarah Tucker, Amy Garay and Robert Worley and 16 great-grandchildren.

Alma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years: George L. Tucker, her parents, 1 infant son: Thomas G. Tucker and 1 brother: John Lang

Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Paul R. Tucker officiating.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

She will be missed and never forgotten by those who dearly loved her.
