Anna Belle Skaggs

Anna Belle Skaggs, age 82 passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Good Samaritan Society in Keosauqua.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Behner Funeral Home, with Pastor Alan Mullikin officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Behner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morris Park in Stockport, Birmingham Lions or Good Samaritan Hospice in Ottumwa. Cards and memorials can be sent to Karen Crawford 207 S. B St. Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Anna Belle was born in Stockport on September 19, 1928 to Milo and Birdena Morris Clark. She married Wilson "Bill" Skaggs on August 19, 1950 in Memphis, Missouri. He passed away February 23, 2008.

She was a bookkeeper at First National Bank in Fairfield and retired after 37 1/2 years as an officer of the bank. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star and was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary.

Anna Belle is survived by 1 daughter: Karen (Gene) Crawford of Fairfield, 1 daughter-in-law: Ann Skaggs of Birmingham, 3 grandchildren: Sean (Nikki) Crawford, Jill (Jim) Silvers and Justin Coffin, 3 great-grandchildren: Arron and Ian Silvers and Hayden Crawford, 1 brother: Gene (Ramona) Clark of Stockport and 2 step-sisters: Kay (Larry) Unkrich and Rita Willson.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Milo and Birdena Clark, step-mother: Eldena Clark, husband: Wilson "Bill" Skaggs, 1 son: Kriss Skaggs and 1 sister: Alice Campbell.
