Arlene Shafer

Arlene Shafer, age 88, of Fairfield, passed away May 6, 2010 at SunnyBrook Living Care Center.

Friends can sign the register book starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, 2010 and family will be present from 6-8 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Barker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Arlene was born in Richland, on January 19, 1922 to Roy Charles Heilman and Cora Ellen Haworth. She lived most of her life in Jefferson County. She was a farm homemaker on her own farm in Buchanan Township.

Arlene is survived by one daughter, Mary Carol (Jack) Fish of Fairfield, two sons, Roy (Carol) Shafer and Ricky Lynn Shafer, both of Indianola, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents and her husband.
