Arlene Elizabeth Tedrow

Arlene Elizabeth Tedrow, age 82, of rural Fairfield, passed away Friday, October 13, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at the Behner Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 18, 2006. Rev. Mike Metz officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, rural Van Buren County.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Kitchen, or V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Kitchen.

Arlene Elizabeth Tedrow was born January 16, 1924 in Libertyville, IA. She was the daughter of Frank and Aletha (Bowers) Williams.

Arlene married Glenn O. Tedrow in Libertyville, IA on February 23, 1947. They are the parents of two children: Gloria and Charles.

Arlene was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, and her memberships included United Methodist Women, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, The Heritage Club, Packwood Senior Citizens, the Sew & So Club, and the Victory Club.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 59 years, Glenn Tedrow of Fairfield, and her children and their families: Gloria and Phil Countryman, and Charles & Joni Tedrow, all of Fairfield. Arlene has five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and six step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Arlene in death are her parents, two brothers and one sister: Johnnie Williams, Russell Williams and Pauline Diehl.
