Arnold VL Crable

Arnold VL. Crable age, 87 passed away Nov. 25, 2007 at his daugher's, Peggy Sidwell's home where he was living.

Memorial services are planned for a later date.

Family and friends may sign the register from 8:30 to 5:00 P.M. Wednesday Nov. 28, 2007 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Arnold was born Oct. 19, 1920 in Clarinda, IA to Clyde and Stella Ridenour Crable. He married Betty Wimpsett and later married Marie E. Montgomery Nov. 15, 1969 in Lancaster ,MO. Marie died Feb. 15, 1992.

Arnold has lived most of his life in the Fairfield area. He was an electrition for Louden Co. for many years. Arnold was a WWII Army veteran and had many honors, including 5 Bronze Stars, and, he was a driver for General Patton. He also retired from the Army National Guard. Arnold enjoyed fishing, and he was a member of Eagles Lodge #1927, The VFW Post #2271, and Knights of Columbus.

Arnold is survived by two daughters and their spouses: Connie & (David) Baily of Pleasant Plain, IA, and Peggy & (Kenneth) Sidwell of Fairfield, IA, one step son Leonard Mathias, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and one brother Marvin Crable of Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie, and first wife Betty, one daughter Penny Glass, two sisters: Florence Byers, and Helen Keller, four brothers: George, Walter, Melvin, and Clyde Crable.
