Audra Lynn Gilpin

Audra Lynn Gilpin, 55, a resident of Fairfield, passed away October 26, 2023 at her home. 

         A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Fishback & Stevenson Cider House, 1949 Pleasant Plain Road in Fairfield. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

Audra was born January 24, 1968 the daughter of Ron and Krista (Trueblood) McWhirter in Keosauqua, Iowa. After graduating from Fairfield High School, Audra received her A.A. degree from Kirkwood Community College and then attended and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa. She married Darin Gilpin on October 9, 1999 in Fairfield, Iowa. Audra was employed by Cambridge Investment Research as a Corporate Events Sponsor Liaison.  

Audra enjoyed shopping, fancy cocktails, good food, and girls’ weekends. She cherished her time spent with family and friends. Audra loved Marilyn Monroe and Betty Boop. She was always dressed very stylishly, including great perfume and accessories. 

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Darin; mother, Krista; sister, Kara (Barry) McWhirter Waugh and nephew Kerrick, of Polk City, Iowa, her-in-law, Myrna Gilpin; sister-in-law, Christy Leazer (Bob) and nephews, Jesse (Angela), Jake, and Jordan (Shelby); brother-in-law, Kyle Gilpin and nephews, Tyler and Dylan, and niece, Hailey (CJ) Shipman; brother-in-law, Fred Latala and niece, Nikki; and many other cousins and aunts and uncles. 

Audra was preceded in death by her father, Ron McWhirter; father-in-law, Larry Gilpin; grandparents, Wilbur and Dora McWhirter, and Vern and Ruth Trueblood; sister-in-law, Kelly Latala; brother-in-law, Kent Gilpin; and her beloved cats, Opie, Marilyn, and Otis.
