Betty Joan Gray age 86 of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Sunnybrook Living Care.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Nazarene Church.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Nazarene Church with Pastor Howard Innis officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Betty was born August 9, 1929 to Dale and Lucille (Cornell) Lyons in Fairfield, IA. She married James Gray January 28, 1945. He passed away May 13, 1979.
Betty loved working in her flower bed and garden, cooking, making quilts, cross stitch and embroidery. Her biggest passion was spending time with her family and making them delicious dishes from many of her family recipes. Betty was always helping others with her caring and generous heart.
She is survived by her 9 children, Jeanette Cox of Douds, IA, Diane Brewer of Corpus Christi, TX, Randal (Sharon) Gray of Seattle, WA, Mary (Gary) White of Lisle, IL, James (Kelley) Gray Jr. of Fairfield, IA, Robert (Janyce) Gray of Cedar Rapids, IA, Tamie Stephenson of Fairfield, IA, Clinton (Sandra) Gray of Keosauqua, IA and Susan (Dennis) Ligon of Virginia Beach, VA; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; one brother, Billy Lyons of Fairfield; and one sister, Thelma Duker of PA.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Lucille Lyons; her husband, James Gray; one son, Jack Gray; one brother, Richard Lyons; and one son-in-law, Bill Cox.
