Betty Headley, age 78, of Fairfield, Iowa, passed away 8:52 PM, Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Funeral Services were held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Traverce Harrison officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Betty (Clara Elizabeth) Headley was born May 14, 1927 in Aurora, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Joseph R. and Hattie (Wilson) Peters and had seven brothers and two sisters.

Betty married Lester "Bud" Headley in Fairfield, Iowa on March 19, 1950. They were the parents of three children: Ron, Ange and Kelly. Bud passed away December 6, 2002.

Betty was a lifetime employee of Fairfield Flower Shop. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fairfield, as well as the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed all types of flowers and playing cards and she loved spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her children and their families: son Ron Headley of Fairfield, and two daughters: Ange & Jerry Lee of Wellman, IA and Kelly & Larry Hahn of Fairfield. Betty was grandmother to six grandchildren: Jody Headley of Marshalltown, IA, Mindy Headley of Kansas City, MO, Dyan Lee of Wellman, IA, Craig Headley of Fairfield, IA, Justin Lee of Palm Desert, CA and Raelyn Hahn of Fairfield, IA. Betty had 3 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two brothers: John Peters of Ft. Madison, IA and Kenneth Peters of Ridge Manor, FL.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bud, in 2002, one grandson, Jason Lee, five brothers and two sisters: Mary, Vada, Ted, Ralph, Gale, Virgil and Lyle.
