Betty Marie Hickenbottom

Betty Marie Hickenbottom age 84 of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Jefferson County Health Center.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10:30, Monday, May 2, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.

Betty was born November 28, 1931 to Fred Ernest and Golda Marie (Hyde) Harrison in Fairfield, IA. She married Hugh Lyle Hickenbottom July 11, 1948 in Lancaster, MO. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before he passed away February 22, 2008.

Betty was a lifelong resident of Fairfield. She loved to garden, play cards, travel and most of all spending time with her grandkids. Betty was a member of Fairfield First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and spent many hours reading the Bible.

Betty is survived by her two sons, Mark Hickenbottom and Steve (Roxanne) Hickenbottom both of Fairfield; 7 grandchildren, Tiffany (Kelly) Cass, Amanda (Sean) Conner, Michaela (Carson) Van Hooser, Whitney Hickenbottom, Corey (Charissa) Hickenbottom, Jessica (Jesse) Knox and Joshua Hickenbottom; and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Harrison and Golda Miller; her husband, Hugh; one daughter, Linda Marie Kenney; one brother, Eugene Harrison; and daughter-in-law, Kerry Hickenbottom.
