Beulah Eldora Shilling

Beulah Eldora Shilling age 93 of Fairfield, passed away April 7, 2016 at Sunnybrook Living Care Center where she had resided since June.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 am, Monday, April 11, 2016 at Hillsboro Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Caughron officiating.

Beulah was born March 31, 1923 at Douds, IA the daughter of Ray and Linnet (Slutts) Barnett. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Eugene Shilling October 17, 1942 in Kahoka, MO. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before he passed away September 10, 2004.

She has resided in Fairfield since 1948. During that time she was employed by Dexter Company for two years, Universal Producing for several years and had her own Bait and Tackle shop for 15 years. She attended Hillsboro School.

Beulah was a great lover of animals, especially dogs and her bird “Pretty Boy” who is 26 years old.

Beulah is survived by 3 sisters, Anna Margaret Workman of Fairfield, IA, Mary (Gordon) Faught of Douds, IA and Charlotte Wallerich of Danville, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Linnet Barnett; her husband, Lawrence Shilling; 4 brothers, Lex, Rex, Robert and Jim Barnett; 3 sisters, Marie Ellis, Georgia Ellis and Leona Sanderson.
