Beverly “Bev” Horton, age 79, of Lockridge passed away April 29, 2017 at Jefferson County Health Center.
Funeral services 10:30 a.m. Thursday May 4, 2017 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Dianne Brokken officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday May 3, 2017 Behner Funeral Home.

Beverly was born November 9, 1937 to Walter and Cora (Jeffrey) Brown. She married Carroll Horton on January 25, 1959 in Birmingham. He died August 11, 1998.
Beverly was raised in Birmingham, and graduated from Birmingham High School. She drove school bus for Fairfield School district for 32 years. After marrying Carroll, and moving to the Lockridge area, Beverly became a farmers’ wife and all that farming entails, from driving grain trucks, tractors and farm equipment, she also enjoyed tractor pulling, raising sheep, crocheting, reading, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She was active in Jefferson County 4-H and Jefferson County Fairs. Beverly was a member of New Sweden Methodist Church.
Beverly is survived by 3 children, Evelyn (Mike) Filson of Birmingham, Ia. Diana ( Richard) Alexander of Fairfield, IA., Larry (Julie) Horton of Lockridge, Ia. 9 grandchildren, Michael Burkhalter, Adam Burkhalter, Ryan Stickels, Cory Alexander, Aaron Burke, Nicole Burke, Dustin Burke, Celsey Horton, Carroll Horton, 3 great grandchildren Brooke Stickels, Keaton Burkhalter, Kinzey Burkhalter.
Beverly was preceded by: her parents, husband, brother Robert Brown.
