Bill Arthur Strawhacker age 67 of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Parkview Care Center, Fairfield, IA.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, March 6 at St Mary's Catholic Church, Fairfield, IA with Father Stephen C. Page officiating. Burial will be St Mary's Cemetery near Kingston, Iowa.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with family present 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Behner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to Fairfield Booster Club or Holden Cancer Clinic at University of Iowa. Memorials can be sent to Shawn Lisk, 50 E Madison Ave, Fairfield, Iowa 52556

Bill A Strawhacker was born April 3, 1945 in Burlington, IA to Arthur Raymond and Marjorie Gillette Strawhacker.

Bill graduated from Mediapolis High School class of 1963. Bill was a longtime resident of Fairfield. Bill was involved and honored at the Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball event. His company, Fairfield Industries, was one of the Presenting Sponsors. Throughout the years, few have matched Bill's support to Fairfield High school. Along with his tremendous monetary contributions to our programs and to events like this, Bill has been a devoted Trojan Athletic Booster Club board member. He has volunteered countless hours and sacrificed much for the betterment of our students. Bill has battled this adversity with an astonishing level of positiveness. The way he lived his life was an inspiration to us all, which is why the stadium Press Box was named in his honor in 2011. Bill felt very honored to have the press box named after him. Fairfield was very fortunate to have Bill Strawhacker as a supporter of the community. For his attitude, commitment, efforts, influences, and his never give up mentality. He was also proud of helping and sponsoring the Fairfield Rebels Softball team.
He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce, District Commission (ASA), Fairfield Economic Development (FEDA) and lifetime Benefactor of National Rifle Association (NRA).

Bill is survived by 2 sisters; Ruth Strawhacker and Barb Blow both of Burlington, IA and 5 brothers; Dave Strawhacker of Burlington, IA, Joe Strawhacker of Granbury, TX, Tom Strawhacker of Burlington, IA, Tim (Lisa) Strawhacker of New Prague, MN and Bob (Kathy) Strawhacker of Mediapolis, IA and 7 nephews and 8 nieces. Also best friends Shawn Lisk and family.
