Billie Joy Turner, age 75 of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Billie Joy Turner was born in Missouri Valley, IA, August 25, 1932 to Elmer C. and Opal (Schofield) Filkins. She was united in marriage with Gary L. Turner in Las Vegas, NV in April, 1975.

Mrs. Turner was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Her hobbies included gardening and she enjoyed 'charming' her yard.

She is survived by her children and their families: daughter Connie Alcantar of Hillsboro, OR, and sons Thomas Roe of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Michael Roe of Fairfield. Mrs. Turner was blessed with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Survivors include a brother and sister: Richard Filkins of Flagstaff, AZ, and Beverly Stichler of Blue Springs, MO.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Gary in 2002, son Ronald Ele, grandson Michael Roe, and two sisters: Irene Filkins and Clara Behn.
