Billy “Bill” Dale Lyons age 82 of Fairfield, passed into new life Monday, February 8, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
There will be an open visitation 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Behner Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2021, at First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Howard Innis and Pastor Daniel Balster officiating. Following the service, he will be buried at Evergreen Cemetery.
If attending the visitation or service, please wear masks and practice social distancing.

Bill was born February 6, 1939, in Fairfield to William “Dale” and Sarah “Lucille” (Cornell) Lyons. He married Mary Louise Mowat on December 1, 1975.
Bill worked in sales for Danielson Motors-Toyota, HyVee and farmed. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and sang tenor in the church quartet for many years. He loved the Lord and loved to sing. He enjoyed gardening, especially tomatoes; animals, especially his cat Joey; good food, especially pies made by Mary. Most important was spending time with his family and friends.
Bill will be missed by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lyons of Fairfield; his children, Cathie Wise, Tim Lyons, Julie (Mike) Lynch, and Todd (Anita) Lyons all of Rockwell City, IA, Cyndie (Bryon) Whiting of Spirit Lake, Barry Lyons of New London, Sarah (Scott) Dement of Olathe, KS, Troy (Angela) Lyons of Riverside, IA and Anna (Adam) Lyons-Nace of Williamsburg, IA; grandchildren, April, Jennifer, Nicole, Dustin, Trice, Mandy, Brandon, Jamie, Emma, Ashly, Michael, Zach, Brooke, Ally, Sadie, Isaac, Silas, Madeline, William and Henry; 26 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Lucille; and his siblings, Thelma Duker, Betty Gray and Richard Lyons.
