Open visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the family present from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, October 24, 2005 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Honorary Casketbearers: Bob Robinson, Dick Simmons, Keith Shafer, Dean Roush and Jack Hagans.

Active Casketbearers: Jerry Droz, Steve Burgmeier, Dick Reed, Mike Pech, Scott Reneker and Lonnie Hesseltine.

Blanche Hendricks passed away at her home on October 19, 2005 at the age of 78. She was the daughter of Louis and Mabel (Speer) Droz. Blanche lived all her life in the Fairfield area and was married to Leonard "Bud" Hendricks on August 29, 1964 in Fairfield. Bud passed away November 2, 1998.

Blanche was the General Relief Director and the Veteran's Affairs Administrator since November of 1982. She enjoyed her view of the city from her office at the top of the Jefferson County Courthouse in all seasons. Blanche was fond of cats, enjoyed coffee on Saturday mornings with her friends at the Fairfield Family Restaurant and shopping.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Carol Ann Cloyed of Moravia, IA and a stepson, Michael Hendricks and many nieces and nephews.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bud, 5 brothers and 2 sisters: Harley, Lloyd, Clarence, Charles, Dale and Myrna Droz and Esther Jacquin.
