Bob Gene Robinson, age 80, of Fairfield Iowa passed away August 30, 2013 at Great River Hospice House in Burlington, Iowa.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday September 5th, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with military rites at 6:00 at the Behner Funeral Home & Crematory, with cremation to follow.

Bob was born January 21, 1933 to Harry Robinson and Mary McOninch in Monroe County, Iowa, and graduated in 1950 from Albia High School. He medically retired from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 after 29 years of active duty in both the Army and Air Force. Overseas duty included tours in Korea and Vietnam during each of those conflicts. Other overseas duty included Japan and Turkey. Military specialties included Infantry, Ground Control Intercept Radar, Counter Intelligence and Order of Battle. He had numerous stateside assignments that included 3 years in the Pentagon at Washington, DC. Bob was wounded in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive of 1968, and was the recipient of about 30 Service medals, badges, and decorations. The last 4 year duty assignment was as the Senior Resident Agent for the Defense Investigative Service Office in Augusta, GA, an agency of the Department of Defense. After military retirement he and his family moved to Fairfield, Iowa where he served as Jefferson County Judicial Magistrate for 13 years, until retirement in March of 1996.
Married for 48 years to Judith Zucker on July 11, 1965 and together have a daughter, Melissa Robinson and a son, Matthew Robinson.
Bob was an avid gun collector over the years, along with working at the Disabled American Veterans, and volunteering at the Senior Center.
Bob is survived by his wife: Judith E. Robinson of Fairfield, IA; 2 children: Melissa Robinson of Muskegon, MI; Matthew Robinson of Fairfield, IA; 1 Grandson: Derek Robinson; 1 Sister: Barbara Hope of Albia, IA; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harry Robinson, and Mary McOninch; brother: Dean Robinson of Monroe County; and Sister: Mary Frazier of Monroe County.
