FAMILY VISITATION WAS 6:00 PM TO 8:00 PM MONDAY, MARCH 14, 2005 AT BEHNER FUNERAL HOME.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE 10:30 AM, TUESDAY, MARCH 15, 2005 AT THE FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH (DISCIPLES OF CHRIST), WITH REV. KURT MAKOWER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN EVERGREEN CEMETERY.

Brian Scott Best was the son of Tommie and Deanna Best. He was born on November 11, 1965 in Fairfield and lived most of his life here. Brian graduated from Fairfield High School with the Class of 1984. He continued his education, receiving a B.S. degree in finance/business from the University of Iowa in 1989. While attending college, he was worked at Chappell Studio in Fairfield, Iowa. Brian was employed by New York Life Insurance as an agent for the past 16 years. He was a member of Centurion, Executive Council, Quality Council, and MDRT.

Brian was the member of numerous clubs and held many positions: Past President and member of Walton Club Board, Fairfield Bowling Association, Elks Lodge #1192, V.F.W. #2271, and Eagles Lodge #1927. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fairfield. Brian's hobbies included golf, bowling, NASCAR racing and he was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Survivors include Brian's daughters, Brittany and Kelsey Best and their mother, Theresa Best of Waukee, Iowa, his mother, Deanna Zillman of Fairfield, IA, father Tommie Best and wife, Connie of Altoona, IA, sister, Joni and husband Joe Stever of Fairfield and brother Michael and wife Rhonda Best of Keosauqua, IA.

Also surviving are Brian's grandparents; Howard & Marcelle Lucas of Fairfield, IA and Bob & Lorraine Michelson of Mission, TX, Nieces and nephews; Tanner Schafer, Grace, Chloe & Sophie Stever and Zoe Best.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents; Floyd & Grace Best and step-father, Donnie Zillman.

Honorary Bearers: Steve Miller, Troy Waugh, Todd Jones, Brad Rose, Doug Faus, Tom Keeley, Herb Justmann and Jeff Crile.

Serving as pallbearers: Allen Jones, Dan Breen, Steve Crile, Scott Graham, Tom Kennedy, Terry Messer, Jeff Six, Shannon McWhirter.
