Brian Edward "Dog" Howard, age 46, of Fairfield, Iowa, and formerly of New London, IA, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Private graveside services were held in Wright Cemetery, Glasgow Road, on April 21, 2006. Rev. Danny Cary officiated.

Brian Edward Howard ("Dog") was born July 8, 1959 in Arlington, California. He was the son of Arthur Eugene and Madine Bee (Chesser) Howard. He married Heidi Voss on February 25, 2006 in Fairfield, Iowa.

Brian was employed in Maintenance at Falco in Fairfield. His many interests included motorcycles, car mechanics, over the road trucking, golfing and spending quality time with his family. Brian's goal in life was to see how many friends he could make.

Brian is survived by his mother, Madine Bee Howard of New London, IA, his wife Heidi of Fairfield, and his children and their families: Jeremy D. Howard of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Jesse J. Howard of the US Marine Corps, Cassandra Howard of Johnston, IA and step-son Kevin Heston, Jr. of Fairfield. Brian was grandfather to two grandchildren: Shawn Howard and Aaron Howard.

Survivors include four sisters: Marcella Hanson, Henrietta Cousins and Terri Sembach of New London, IA and Joyce Purdie of Haysville, KS, and one brother: Tommy Howard of New London, IA.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, nephew and one brother.
