Bruce Eldon Plum

Bruce Eldon Plum, age 86, passed away at his home in Fairfield on September 18, 2011.

Per his request there will be no funeral service, but friends may stop by at the family home, located at 1202 Liberty Drive, in Fairfield, on Tuesday afternoon, September 20, 2011.

Memorials in memory of Bruce may be made to First United Methodist Church, Hospice of Central Iowa, or to the Fairfield Public Library. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Esther Plum at 1202 Liberty Drive, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Bruce Eldon Plum was born on April 22, 1925 In Marshalltown, Iowa to Lloyd and Sarah Robb Plum. He married Esther Helgeland in Ames, Iowa on March 2, 1951.

Bruce attended Iowa State University and worked as a forester for the state of Iowa for 31 years. He was also a Navy veteran and served his country during WW II.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Esther, and two sons: Lloyd Plum II and wife Ardeth of Tillamook, OR and Stan Plum and wife Debi of Phoenix, AZ: six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Buelah Cash of Lordsberg, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
