Carol Jean Amrine

Carol Jean Amrine, age 79, passed away at the Jefferson County Hospital on Wednesday, June 13, 2012.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Bieker officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Behner Funeral Home.

Carol was born on December 7, 1932 in Fairfield, to Edward and Etolla Potorff Barker. She was raised by Florence and Edward Barker, from the age of 3. She married Donald Amrine in 1955 at the First Christian Church in Fairfield. He passed away on December 28, 1988.

She graduated from Fairfield High School with the class of 1950 and was retired, from being a machine operator at Metromail in Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed music, gardening, flowers and her cattle.

Carol is survived by 2 children: Gail (Roger) Brown of Oskaloosa and Kris Amrine of Brighton, 3 grandchildren: Travis Brown, Levi Amrine and Nick Amrine and 2 siblings: Darrell (Susan) Barker of Dubuque and Elizabeth Barker (Bill) Bowers of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
