Carol Ann Chapman

Carol A. Chapman, age 73, of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

Family visitation will be held 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, April 28, 2008 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fairfield, with Pastor Suzanne Swahn officiating. Interment will follow in Dibble Cemetery.

Carol Ann Chapman was born December 16, 1934 in Keosauqua, IA to Ira and Lola G. (Clark) Pratt. She graduated Salutatorian from Stockport High School with the Class of 1952. Carol was united in marriage with Donald D. Chapman May 14, 1955 in Fairfield. He passed away August 30, 2006. They were the parents of Jeff and Janet.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church, (DOC) in Fairfield, and held many church offices, including Deacon, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, and Membership Chairman. Carol was a member of CWF, and received the Honored Servant Award of the First Christian Church, (DOC).

Carol is survived by her children and their families: Jeff Chapman (Carmen) of Indianola, IA, and Janet Chapman of Newton, IA. Carol was blessed with two step-grandchildren; Landen and Ashley Buchman. Survivors include a brother, Robert Pratt of DeWitt, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Fred Pratt, and a sister, Jeanette Cammorata.
