Carol E. Durst

Carol E. Durst, age 58, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Rev. Mike Metz and Rev. Dave Peterson co-officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family requests memorials, in lieu of flowers, to be made to the Durst Family.

Carol Edith Durst was born April 11, 1948 in Ottumwa, IA, the daughter of Dwight and Madelyn (Carlson) Zepp. She graduated from Pekin High School with the Class of 1966, and received her nursing degree from Indian Hills Community College.

Carol was united in marriage with Duane Durst on February 23, 1968. They are the parents of two children: Todd and Carrie.

Carol was a registered nurse for 38 years, with 10 years in Mt. Pleasant, employed at Park Place HCHC (Long Term Health Care). She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Carol is survived by her husband, Duane of Fairfield, and her children and families: Todd Durst of Perry, IA and Carrie Brownlee and husband Mark of Fairfield. Carol was grandmother to Kyleigh Durst, Ramsey Durst, Jordan Durst and Cameron Burke.

Survivors include two sisters and one brother: Sandra and Steve Langridge of Burlington, IA, Dean and Sharon Zepp of Meriden, KS, and Katheryn and Jan Greene of Powder Springs, GA.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
