Charles Edwin Bradley

Charles Edwin Bradley, age 80 of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service, starting at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital. Cards and memorials may be sent to 200 S. 6th St. Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Charles was born in Fairfield, on March 3, 1931 to Fred and Nevada Shondell Bradley. He married Janet Elizabeth Wright in Mt. Pleasant on August 4, 1951. She passed away on August 10, 2010.

Charles served with the Iowa National Guard, was a purchasing agent at Parson's College until they closed and was also a welder for Dexter Laundry Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and outdoor sports.

Charles is survived by 2 daughters: Sonia (Cesar) Sotomayor of Fairfield, Iowa and Nancy (Jerry) McTee of Gadsden, Alabama, 5 grandchildren: Corey Reed, Rebecca Reed-Perez, Sara Hull, Brandon Reed and Megan Hull, 7 great-grandchildren and 7 siblings: Tom Bradley of Fairfield, Jack (Delores) Bradley of Fairfield, Jerry (Lea) Bradley of Mt. Pleasant, Linda (Russell) Vorhies of Fairfield, Ann Edwards of Washington, Ronald (Iona) Bradley of Red Lion, Pennsylvania and John (Rachel) Bradley of Palm Coast, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Janet and 3 siblings: Jim Bradley, Richard Bradley and Phyllis Kelton.
