Charles Alvin Clingan, age 90, died Wednesday January 23, 2008 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.

Funeral services for Charles will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Family visitation will be 6:30PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, January 28, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home.

Charles Alvin Clingan was born March 3o, 1917 to George Alvin and Gladys May (Bottger) Clingan in Ollie, IA. He married Marjorie J. Droz September 1, 1945 in Moberly, MO. They are the parents of three children: Carol, Daryl, and Stanley.

Charles had lived in Fairfield since 1936. He maintained heavy equipment for EN Duesenburg Construction and retired in 1981. Charles was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Charles is survived by his wife Marjorie of Derby, KS and their children and families: Carol A. (Bill) Atkins of Crown Point, IN, Daryl L. (Karen) Clingan of Derby ,KS, and Stanley C. (Rozella) Clingan of Wichita, KS. Charles was blessed with eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Survivors include two sisters and three brothers: Jean Arlene Bess of Davenport,IA, Maxine Randall of Fairfield,IA, Dean Clingan of Hedrick,IA, Franklin Clingan of Fairfield,IA. and Dale Clingan of Tiffin,IA.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister: Walter and J.O. Omer Clingan and Betty Coffin.
