Charles Fitzsimmons Jr

Charles Fitzsimmons Jr., age 73, of Libertyville, Iowa passed away October 21, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, OCtober 26, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home, with Father Stephen C. Page officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home.

Charles was born in Ottumwa, on January 17, 1937 to Charles and B. Kathleen Utterback Fitzsimmons Sr. He married Agnes Elaine Waddle on January 31, 1959 in Ottumwa.

Charles lived in the Libertyville area for the last 43 years. He attended school in Eldon, Iowa. Charles worked for Creek Oil in Libertyville and retired from Rockwell-Standard, where he was a member of the IAM Union, after 30 years. He was also a board member of Fell Cemetery and a volunteer fireman for Libertyville. Charles enjoyed displaying their Christmas lights, was an avid hunter and loved to bake cookies and make fudge and cakes.

Charles is survived by 5 children: Marvin Fitzsimmons of Libertyville, Philip (Karla) Fitzsimmons of Birmingham, Dianna (LeRoy) Haynes of Libertyville, Susan Booth of Batavia and Jeffrey (Traci) Fitzsimmons of Ollie, 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 8 siblings: Etta Mae (Jr.) Evans of eddyville, George Fitzsimmons of Floris, Delorris (Raymond) Lanman of Floris, Kenneth (Linda) Fitzsimmons of Agency, Beverly (Larry) Roberts of Eldon, Drucilla (Jack) Chickering of Agency, Richard (Kathy) Fitzsimmons of Floris and H. Dean (Betty) Fitzsimmons of Eldon and 1 sister-in-law: Linda Fitzsimmons of Wataga, Illinois.

He was preceded by: his parents, his wife, 1 brother: Robert Fitzsimmons Sr. and 1 great grandson: Clayton.
