Family visitation was held Sunday, December 4, 2005 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral services was held at the funeral home on Monday, December 5, 2005 at 10:30 AM. Rev. Lisa Dietrich officiated.

Charles "Charlie" Clifford Thompson was born January 8, 1939 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Clarence Clifford and Hazel Margaret (Hahn) Thompson. He married Beverly Jean Dahms at the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield on July 16, 1977. They were the parents of one daughter, Melissa.

Charlie was a lifelong resident of the Fairfield community was a member of the Iowa National Guard from 1957-1965. Charlie was employed by Thompson Electric as a TV sales and serviceman from 1955-1977. He joined the maintenance department for Arvin Meritor/Rockwell, Int. in 1977 and retired in 2002.

Charlie enjoyed spending summers with his family biking and fishing on Lake Belle Taine in Nevis, MN. He appreciated country music, 50's Rock 'n Roll and working on the computer.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Beverly and their daughter Melissa Lechtenberg and her husband Wade, of Davenport, IA. Survivors include two sisters: Margaret Moss and husband Fred of Fairfield and Alice Puder and husband Jerry of Harper, Kansas.

Predeceasing Charlie are his parents and one brother, Larry Thompson.
