Charlotte 'Irene' Six, age 93, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Monday, January 21, 2008 at her daughter's home in Denton, TX.
Visitation with the family will precede the service and be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 pm in the church parlor of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Fairfield, IA.
A funeral service celebrating her life will follow visitation at 2:00 PM, Saturday, with Pastor Suzanne Swahn officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Irene was born January 17, 1915 in Fairfield, IA, the daughter of Albert G. and Ethel Faye (Armstrong) Sauer. She married Roy O. Six in 1946. Irene was a bookkeeper at Rockwood's ready-to-wear store for twenty years and at Martin's Drug for more than thirty years. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she served as deacon. Irene was also active in the Fairfield Women's Club. She was a long-time resident of Fairfield before moving to Denton four years ago.
Irene is survived by her children and their families: Nancy and husband Edwin Glick of Denton, TX, and son Douglas Six and his wife Josanne of Ames, IA. Irene was blessed with nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy, and a sister, Alberta Sauer Blough.
