Clifford J. Droz, age 81, of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Hospice of Wapello and Davis Counties in Ottumwa, IA.
Funeral services were held 1:30 PM, Friday, November 16, 2007 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Interment with Military Rites followed in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Clifford J. Droz was born in Fairfield, IA May 7, 1926 to Lawrance J. and Phena May (Viles) Droz. He was a machine gunner in the United States Navy during WWII.
Clifford was a USAC stockcar driver and voted Racer of the Year in 1961, as wellas inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame in Knoxville, IA. He was a farmer and employed as a truck driver for Merchants & Churchill Trucklines. After retirement, he transported Amish families in the area.
He is survived by his children and their families: Donna (Ron) Golden of Norwood, NC, and Connie Sue (Dennis) Gwinnup of Keosauqua, IA, 9 grandchildren: Byron W. Droz of Fairfield, Anthony C. Droz of Keosauqua, IA, Terry L. Eisenbarth of Tama, IA, Tracy D. Folker of Keosauqua, IA, Ronald Golden, Jr. of North Carolina, Yvonne Harms of St. Louis, MO, Angie Golden of Memphis, TN, William Droz of Fairfield, and Ella Droz. Clifford has 15 great-grandchildren.
Survivors include sisters Velma Coleman of Birmingham, IA, and Marybelle Bradley of Fairfield, two sisters-in-law, Eva Droz of Stockport, Norma Droz of Fairfield, and one brother-in-law, Raymond White of Ottumwa, IA. Included are his neighbors and extended family of Barbara, Mark, and children Sarah, Jennifer, Chelsea, Faith, and Adam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Danny Droz, one daugher, Sandra Kay Droz, two infant daughters, daughter-in-law Martha Kay Droz, five brothers: Marshall, Jack, Perry, John, and Dick Droz, and three sisters: Clara Droz, Mary Mitchell and Louise White.
