Clifford H. Thomas

Clifford H. Thomas, age 84 of Fairfield, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. Following his wishes, his body will be cremated.

No family visitation is planned. Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, with Pastor Dave Elmore officiating.

Clifford H. Thomas was born in Bentonsport, IA on August 17, 1924 to Arthur and Mary (Swift) Thomas. He was a United States veteran of World War II. Mr. Thomas was united in marriage with Josephine Messer in Iowa City, IA on June 24, 1949. He was employed for 20 years at the John Deere Plant in Moline, IL.

Surviving Mr. Thomas is his wife of 59 years, Josephine of Fairfield, and their son, Arthur Thomas of Vinton, IA. Mr. Thomas was blessed with one grandchild: Clifford Lee Nelson. Survivors include two sisters, Thelma Degner of Albert City, IA, and Helen Zollars of Boone, IA, and a brother, Dale Miller of Cornersville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Charles Thomas, Merle Thomas, Henry Thomas, and half-brothers: Harry Thomas, Clarence Thomas, Willis Erickson, Harrison Jones, and Dorsey (Mike) Thomas.
