Colleen Houdyshell

Colleen Houdyshell, age 71, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, August 7, 2006 at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Memorial services were held 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Words of comfort were offered by Bill Iammatteo-code.

Following her wishes, the body will be cremated.

The family wishes memorials, in lieu of flowers, to be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Colleen Houdyshell was born in Neodesha, Kansas on September 9, 1934, the daughter of Mark and Mildred (Edwards) Lanning. She retired as treasurer of the Tulsa Technology Center in Oklahoma. Upon moving to Fairfield, she was employed by Genetic ID.

Colleen is survived by her children and their families: Paula Fortner-Parks of Wichita, KS and Darrel Houdyshell of Brussels, Belgium. Colleen has three grandchildren and seven great-grandsons. Survivors include one brother, Dean Lanning of Loveland, CO.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents.
