Ruth Rippey

            Cora Ruth Cubbage Rippey, 72, a resident of Libertyville, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

            Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2023 at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville. Burial will be at Fell Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28^th at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the family present from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family and sent to P.O. Box 264, Libertyville, IA 52567.

            Ruth was born August 4, 1951 in Fairfield, the daughter of Robert and Betty (Black) Cubbage. She married Russell Rippey, January 31, 1970 at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville.

            Ruth was a certified para-educator for the Fairfield School District for ten years. She enjoyed socializing with her friends, playing bingo, watching stock car races, and never missed an episode of “Wheel of Fortune”. Her true joy was being with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the love of her life, Russ.

            Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Russ; daughters, Robyn Rippey of Libertyville and Renea Rippey of Fairfield; granddaughters, Jessica (Jacob Dunn) Barnett and Cortney Barnett; great-grandchildren, Allison and Colton Dunn; siblings, Janette Campbell, Roberta (Randy) Fleig, and Harold (Kathy) Cubbage; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law, James Mrogenski.
