D. Lillian Kerr

D. Lillian Kerr, age 76 of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Sunnybrook Living Care Center, Fairfield, IA.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, March 6, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Monte Knudsen officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2015 and from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Friday, March 6, 2015 prior to the service at Behner Funeral Home.

Lillian was born July 1, 1938 to Hubert Anson and Ruth Ione (Longcor) Ritz in Davis County (yellow farmhouse). She married Glen “Dale” Kerr April 21, 1957. They celebrated 56 years of marriage before he passed away September 19, 2013.

She worked at Jefferson County Hospital and Ottumwa Regional Hospital as an RN before she retired in 1993. Some of Lillian’s hobbies and interests were reading, music, watching San Antonio Spurs, people watching - little children, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She was the Sunday School Superintendent at Free Methodist Church and helped with fundraisers for the American Heart Association.

Lillian is survived by her 2 daughters, Lori Lynn (Rod) Luke of Fairfield, IA and Linda Raye (Mitch) Crossley of Queen Creek, Arizona; 7 Grandchildren, Matt Luke, Brandon Luke, Travis Luke, Grant Crossley, Meredith Crossley, Cameron Crossley and Benjamin Crossley; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Oveson of Moscow, IA, Madalyn (Paul) Figg of Muscatine, IA, and Mada (Dave) Jones of Cedar Rapids, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Ruth Ritz; her husband, Glen “Dale” Kerr; two sisters, Hazel Boyd and Evelyn Lough; and two brothers, Lyle Ritz and Neal Ritz.
