Dale H. Aicher, age 95 of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, IA.
Friends may pay their respects to the family Friday, March 6 at Oakland Mills Community Church, SW of Mt. Pleasant, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Oakland Mills Community Church, with Rev. Bob Dameron officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

Dale Henry Aicher was born over 95 years ago on August 31, 1913 to John Lewis and Matilda Marie (Timmerman) Aicher in Oakland Mills, IA. He lived all his life in the Jefferson/Henry County communities. He was united in marriage with Vera P. Gholson in Burlington, IA on February 20, 1941. They were married for over 50 years until her death January 14, 1997.
Dale was a devoted husband and father. He was a lifetime farmer and following retirement, he worked at Messer Seed Company for 10 years. He delighted in his family, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards, as well as being an avid Cubs fan.
Dale is survived by his children and their families: Richard and KellAnn RedHead Aicher of Keokuk, IA, Nancy and Fred Behner of Fairfield, IA, Dean and Doris Aicher of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Ted and Kathy Aicher of Fairfield. Dale was blessed with seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren: Shelley Anderson, Jodi Wenthe, Nicholas Aicher, Kimberly Althide, Lisa Miller, Lindsey Aicher, Kelly Howard, Debbie Thomas, Bruce Gholson, and Kiki Soule; as well as 15 greatgrandchildren and three step-greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers and one sister: Ervin Aicher, Alvin Aicher, and Frances Cantwell; and one step-greatgrandchild.
