Darlene Brown

Darlene Brown, age 64 of Farmington, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Stockport Christian Church with Pastor John Griffith officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Iowa Hospice or Farmington First Responders. Cards and memorials may be sent to PO Box 66 Farmington, Iowa 52626.

Darlene was born on October 4, 1946 in Keosauqua, to Thomas and Edna Wiley Bartholomew. She married Kermit Brown on July 10, 1966 in Stockport.

She graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1965. She was a production worker at Eagle Plastics for 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching birds.

Darlene is survived by her husband: Kermit, 2 children: Rhonda (Mike) Best and Mikki (Chris) Balmer, both of Keosauqua, 3 grandchildren: Hunter Balmer, Jade Balmer and Zoe Best and 10 siblings: Judy (Jack) Newlon of Keosauqua, Tom (Kathy) Bartholomew of Keosauqua, Calvin (Robin) Bartholomew of Milton, Gary (Sandy) Bartholomew of Stockport, Rita (Roger) Reid of Stockport, Connie (Ted) Denison of Keosauqua, Charles Bartholomew of Iowa City, Nancy Bartholomew of Stockport, Dale (Deb) Bartholomew of Ollie and Susan Parish of Keosauqua.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 daughter: Rebecca Lynn Brown.
