Darlene F. Martin, age 69 of Ollie, IA, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 at home following a three-year battle with cancer.

Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. Dave Elmore and Rev. Danny Cary co-officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, IA.

Darlene Fern Martin was born January 24, 1938 in Ottumwa, IA to Robert Clair and Sylvia (Collins) Goldsberry. She was united in marriage with Ronald Martin on August 6, 1954 in Lancaster, MO. They are the parents of six children: Rodney, Randy, Rhonda, Rochelle, Royce, and Reanea.

Darlene was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She valued her family and friends, and enjoyed her dogs, collecting nic nacs, candles and growing plants and flowers. Darlene was a member of Fairfield Friends Church .

Her husband, Ronald, survives Darlene, as well as her children and their families: Rodney Martin and wife Rhonda of McPherson, KS, Rhonda Wonderlich and husband Terry of Ollie, IA, Rochelle McCabe and husband Earl, Royce Martin and wife Bobbie Jo, and Reanea Frisbie and husband Kevin, all of Fairfield. Darlene has 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Survivors include three brothers and one sister: Larry Goldsberry of LaClair, IA, Keith "Butch" Goldsberry of Rock Island, IL, Dennis Goldsberry of Red Oak, IA, and Clarissa Rhodes of Kirksville, MO.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, son Randy Martin, great grandson Cody Chatfield, and sister Karen Goldsberry.
