Darrell Wayne Phillips

Darrell Wayne Phillips, age 71, of Fairfield, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Jefferson County Health Center.

Visitation will be Friday, February 19, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Home and services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Behner Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Cecil will officiate.

Darrell was born in East Moline, Illinois on November 29, 1938 to Clarence Edwin and Leota (Race) Phillips. Darrell married Karen McNeese on September 2, 1961 and they were later divorced. For the last 30 years, Darrell has been committed to Karen Lamb.

Darrell was drafted into the United States Army in 1961. He was a self employed contractor and lived all of his life in Van Buren and Jefferson Counties.

He is survived by seven children, JoAnn (Greg) Franklin of Tiffin, Michelle (Bob) Brown of Cedar Rapids, Mike Phillips of Fairfield, Pat DuFour of New London, Brenda Hand of Mt. Pleasant, Jerry Lamb of Middletown and Vicki Pearson of Fairfield, two brothers, Richard Phillips of East Moline, Illinois and Jim Phillips of Eddyville, 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Phil Phillips, one stepson, James Lamb and one grandchild.
