David "Dave" Kenneth Luckman

David “Dave” Kenneth Luckman age 80 of Fairfield, passed away November 6, 2022, at Prestige Care Center.

Open visitation will start Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. and family will be present from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Behner funeral Home & Crematory.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Dany Cary officiating.

Dave was born July 25, 1942, to Kenneth Samuel and Vera Renovia (Howell) Luckman. He married Donna Jean Henderson August 27, 1966 at the First Presbyterian Church in Oelwein, Iowa.

Dave was born and attended Fairfield School from kindergarten to graduating high school. He continued his education by going to Iowa State University for 2 years, and Drake University in 1964 as a Psych-sociology Major.  Dave and Donna bought Luckman Hardware in 1976 to September 2022 with a total of 46 years.

Dave had various interests listening to music, trying various foods, sail boating, woodworking and ham radio.  He enjoyed watching anything with baseball especially the St. Louis Cardinals.   Most important was spending time with family, friends and working at the store.

Dave will be missed by his wife of 56 years, Donna of Fairfield; two children, Steve (Lani) Luckman of Cedar Rapids and Jennifer (Thomas) Lamansky of Batavia; 9 grandchildren, Cole Ferrel, Brock Ferrel, Jazlynn Luckman, Shallan Luckman, Cadence Luckman, Blake Lamansky, Knoxx Lamansky, Aleia Lamansky, Brielle Lamansky; two great grandchildren, Celeste Ferrel and Risette Ferrel; and one sister, Carole Rucker of Alexandria, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Vera Luckman.
