Dennis Michael Barton

Dennis Michael Barton, age 67 of Libertyville, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 at his home.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Libertyville Faith United Methodist Church with Pastor Peggy Ellingson officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Behner Funeral Home.

Dennis was born on October 11, 1943 in Fairfield, to DeWayne and Vivian Kirk Barton. He married Connie Eklund on May 10, 1964 in Libertyville.

He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, was a machinist at Rockwell Standard for 20+ years and had also driven a semi for Dickey Transport.

Dennis is survived by his wife: Connie, 2 children: Angela (Douglas) Copeland of Fairfield and Richard (Barbara) Barton of Packwood, 3 grandchildren: Kirby Copeland, Adam Copeland and Connor Arizola, 1 great-granddaughter: Marley Rose Copeland and 2 siblings: Larry Barton of Fairfield and Carol Streed of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
