DeWayne L. Barton, 90, passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Living Care Center, Fairfield, IA on Feb. 7, 2010.
Famly visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 10, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thurs., Feb. 11, 2010 at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville, IA with Pastor Peg Ellingson officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery.

DeWayne Lee Barton was born Feb. 9, 1919 in Fairfield, IA, the son of Ola Nelson and Edna (Stewart) Barton. He graduated from Fairfield High School and married Lorraine (Kirk) Barton on Dec. 29, 1939. They were the parents of three children: Larry, Dennis and Carol.
DeWayne "Bart" retired from Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline in 1981. For several years after retirement, DeWayne had his own CB Shop. His main hobby was fishing and many referred to him as "The Fisherman." He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was known for making and delivering his famous "Peanut Crunch," to special friends at Christmas time. He was an active member of the Faith United Methodist Church.
DeWayne is survived by his children and their families: Larry Barton of Wayland, IA, Dennis and Connie Barton of Libertyville, IA and Carol Streed of Windsor Heights, IA. He has five grandchildren: Mark Streed, Angela Copeland, Kristin Streed, Rick Barton and Shannon Hiatt. He was great-grandfather to Kirby and Adam Copeland; Shelby, Adam and Ashlyn Streed and Owen Hiatt. DeWayne was the great, great-grandfather of Savannah Cross.
DeWayne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lorraine and two brothers, Maynard and LeMonte Barton.
