Dirk Owen Cramblit age 59 of Agency, formerly of Davenport, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Davis & Wapello Counties Hospice House, Ottumwa, Iowa.

As per his wishes he has been cremated.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church, 915 Overman Ave, Ottumwa, IA 52501 with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Dirk’s name for a Horticulture Scholarship through IHCC Foundations Department. Cards and memorials can be sent to: P.O. Box 322, Agency, IA 52530.

Dirk was born in Ottumwa on March 23, 1955 to Jerry and Marilyn (Owen) Cramblit. Dirk married Koni Boles August 30, 1980 and born to this marriage was Chase Cramblit. Dirk later married Debra Mayer August 10, 2002.

He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1973 then studied skilled trades at Indian Hills Jr. College. Dirk worked at John Deere as a machinist in Ottumwa and Davenport for 18 ½ years before moving back to Ottumwa to graduate with a 2 year degree in Horticulture from Indian Hills Community College in 1999.

Dirk loved flowers, nature, animals, camping and floating in a canoe or kayak down the river.

He is survived by Debra Cramblit of Agency, IA; one son, Chase (Dana) Cramblit of Springville, IA; one granddaughter, Taylor Cramblit of Springville, IA; his mother, Marilyn Cramblit of Ottumwa, IA; two siblings, Mark (Sandy) Cramblit of Ottumwa, IA and Marilee (Steve) Overturf of Drakesville, IA; 3 nieces, nephew and 3 great nephews.

He was preceded by his father, Jerry Cramblit and youngest brother, Michael Cramblit.
