Donald Billingsley

Donald Billingsley age 89 of Lockridge, passed away, Monday, July 13, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, IA.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, July16, 2015 at Behner Funeral.

Funeral Services will be, 10:30 am, Friday, July 17, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Holman officiating. Burial will be at Glasgow Cemetery.

Donald was born October 30, 1925 to Sam and Iva (Erickson) Billingsley. He married Lois Coop January 30, 1949 at First United Methodist Church. They celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Donald farmed all his life. He was proud to take care of the farm that has been in the family for 170 years. Donald enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards and spending time with family, grandkids and friends.

Donald is survived by his wife, Lois Billingsley of Lockridge, IA; two sons, James (Debbie) Billingsley of Fairfield, IA and Michael Jon (Deb) Billingsley of West Des Moines, IA; 3 grandchildren, Laura (Eric) Kochneff, Kristin (Steve) Cooper and Dana Billingsley; two great grandchildren; and one twin sister, Dorothy Moore of Mt. Pleasant, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Iva Billingsley; and one brother, William Billingsley (he was killed in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII).
