Donald Dean Brown, age 80 of Birmingham, passed away March 8, 2013 at his home in Birmingham, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Bernie Weir officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Spencer Cemetery near Stockport, Iowa.Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Good Samaritan Hospice of Ottumwa. Memorials can be sent to PO Box 545, Farmington, IA 52626.Donald Brown was born May 2, 1932 in Stockport, IA to Otto Brown and Irene Johnson Brown. He married Dolores Agnes Moeller on April 18, 1959 in St. Paul, IA. She died February 22, 2013Donald lived in the Stockport and Birmingham area throughout his life. Donald was in the Army for 3 years and National Guard for 24 years and retired as a Command Sergeant Major. Donald worked at ACCO Louden for 44 years and retired as plant manager. He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion of Birmingham, IA, St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.Donald is survived by: Daughter Julie (David) Ludwig of Farmington, IA., sons: Jim (Kibby) Brown of Puyallup, WA., Jerry Brown of St. Paul, MN., John (Vickie) Brown of Stockport, Ia., Jack (Deborah) Brown of Mound, MN., 6 grandchildren: Aaron Ludwig, Samantha (Brandon) McCracken, Stephanie Brown, Sarah Brown, Nicklaus Brown, Alexander Brown, 3 great grandchildren: Jacob Brown, Taylor McCracken, Harper McCracken and Sister: Lois Alman, Pacific Junction, IA.
Donald was preceded in death by: wife Dolores Brown and his parents.
