Donald Howard Hewitt

Donald H. Hewitt, age 85, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

Open visitation will be held Noon to 4:00 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, April 18th,at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the family present at 12:30 PM . Rev. Howard Innis will officiate. Interment with Military Rites will be in Evergreen Cemetery .

The family requests memorials be made to the Fairfield Pulic Library in lieu of flowers.

Donald Howard Hewitt was born October 8, 1922 in Denver, CO to William and Malissa (Thorn) Hewitt. He was united in marriage with Estella Eiune Gore in Fairfield on August 31, 1952. Eiune passed away November 2, 2004. They were the parents of Daniel and Susan.

Donald was a U.S. Marine veteran of WWII. He was employed by American Chain and Cable for 25 years, and was a wholesaler of the U.S.A. Today Newspaper for 11 years. Donald was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, and V.F.W. Post #2271 in Fairfield.

Donald is survived by his son, Daniel Hewitt, of Fairfield, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, daughter Susan, one brother and one sister.
