Donald Charles Ledger

February 25, 1928 — January 6, 2005

Donald Charles Ledger was born in Jefferson County, the son of Edward Paul & Margaret Peck Ledger.
He married Maxine Elmore on March 5, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield, Iowa. They were the parents of six children.

Donald attended Jefferson County rural schools at Hawkeye #8. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Donald was a farmer in Blackhawk Twp, a member of Jefferson County Pork Producers, Farm Bureau, F.S.A. Committee, the L&W Farm Service Board of Directors, and the Iowa Cattleman Assn. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a past member of the Parish Council.

Donald is survived by his wife, Maxine, his children and their families; Joseph C. & Mary Ann Ledger of Fairfield, IA, Michael L. & Patricia Ledger of Packwood, IA, Randall G. & Lori Ledger of Eldora, IA, Rebecca S. Ledger of Pella, IA, Sandra K. Ledger of Cedar Rapids, IA and Debra & James "Jake" Werner of Fargo, ND. He was grandfather of eleven grandchildren.

Donald is also survived by six siblings; Lester and Virgil Ledger of Brighton, IA, James Ledger and Clarabell Vittetoe of Washington, IA Dolores Sieren of Keota, IA and Geraldine Hubler of Durant, IA.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Maxine Hahn and two brothers; Elmer and Ernest Ledger.

Funeral Services were held 10:30 am Saturday, January 8th at St. mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield.
