Doris Jean Peiffer

Doris J. Peiffer, age 77 of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2009 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Visitation with the family will be held 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Stephen Page officiating. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemtery in Washington, IA.

Doris Jean Peiffer was born in Brighton, IA April 5, 1931 to E.W. and Ada (Schooley) Duttweiler. She was united in marriage with Herbert J. Peiffer June 9, 1948. Doris was a housewife and mother, and she especially enjoyed playing Bingo in the tri-county area.

She is survived by her children and their families: Donna Kaufman of Wayland, IA, Anthony Peiffer and wife Patsy of Fairfield, and daughter-in-law Debbie Peiffer of Lockridge. Doris was blessed with six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert on May 17, 1993, two sons: Robert and Michael, son-in-law Michael Kaufman and brother Dale Duttweiler.
