Dorothy Lucille Hudson

Dorothy Lucille Hudson, age 86 of Fairfield, passed away at Nelson Nursing Home on Thursday, October 10, 2006.

Funeral services were held 1:30 PM, Friday, October 13, 2006 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA. Rev. James McGaffey and Rev. Mike Metz officiated.

Memorials may be made to the First Methodist Church in Fairfield, or the American Diabetes Association.

Dorothy Lucille Hudson was born June 12, 1920 in Washington, IA, the daughter of David and Lucy (Kimmel) McGaffey. She graduated from Washington High School and later married Frank F. Hudson on her birthday in 1941. They were the parents of one daughter, Donna. Frank passed away July 28, 1992.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was employed as Sales Clerk at Martha Brown, Ltd. clothing store in Fairfield. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield and a number of Bible Study and Prayer Groups, as well as the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Donna and son-in-law Ronald Bruner of Batavia, and two grandchildren: Charles Bruner and Barbara Bruner, and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank and two brothers: Gerald McGaffey and John McGaffey.
