Dorothy Lucille Moore

Dorothy L. Moore, age 86, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Monday, July 13, 2009 at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.

Family visitation will be held at Behner Funeral Home 6:30 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 15, 2009.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, July 16, at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Suzanne Swahn officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Dorothy Lucille Moore was born September 21, 1922 in Keota, IA to Frank G. and Ethel M. (Gumm) Lawson. She was united in marrige with Robert W. Moore August 14, 1947. He preceded her in death February 22, 1979.

Dorothy and Robert made their home in Phoenix, AZ, where she was employed with Newberry's Department Store in the Candy Department. Following Robert's death, she returned to Iowa, where she was a member of the Eagles Women's Auxiliary, and attended Birmingham Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her brother, Robert (Betty) Lawson of Fairfield, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers: Nina, Frances, Alberta, Betty, Ruthie, Grace, Milton and Walter.
