Douglas "Doug" Eugene Peebler

Douglas “Doug” Eugene Peebler age 63, of Pleasant Plain, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday, August 28, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home with words of comfort by Shelia Parcell. After the service he will be cremated. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Brethren Cemetery.

Doug was born September 19, 1951 to Gene and Esther (Heater) Peebler in Fairfield, IA. He married Sue Ann Droz June 6, 1971. She passed away June 27, 2009.

Doug worked at Falco, Iowa Malleable & Rockwell as a skilled laborer. He owned and operated Owen’s Gas Station. He liked old cars, going to car shows, watching the Washington Redskins, basketball, being outdoors, going for car rides and relaxing on the porch. Most important was spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his 3 sons, Dennis (Melanie) Peebler of Fairfield, IA Doug Jr. (Brooke) Peebler of Fairfield, IA and Doug (Kristie) Rohme of Georgia; his companion, Virginia Gleason of Pleasant Plain; two grandsons, Justin and Dallas Peebler; 2 brothers, David (Kim) Peebler of Maryland and Steve Peebler of Agency, IA; 5 sisters, Joyce (Jan) Suloman of Maryland, Marsha (Keith) Roberts of Maryland, Janet Apatoff of Maryland, Sonja (Ray) Williams of North Carolina, and Beverly (Tim) Gray of West Virginia; many nieces and nephews; and four grand dogs.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Esther Peebler; wife, Sue Ann Peebler; and one brother, Michael Peebler.
