Doyle Eugene Heston, 70, of Palestine, Texas and formerly of Fairfield, IA went home to be with the Lord, Friday, July 29, 2005 while vacationing with family in Davenport, IA.
Mr. Heston was born June 29, 1935 on the family farm south of Fairfield. He was the youngest of three sons born to William and Laura (Anderson) Heston.
Doyle graduated from Fairfield High School in 1953. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While stationed in San Antonio, TX, Doyle met Sue Prestridge and they were married in Montalba, Texas on August 10, 1958.
Doyle and Sue made their home five miles south of Fairfield, where they farmed and raised four children, Sherri, Phillip, Mark and Matthew. Doyle also worked as a machinist at Fairfield Engineering, ILECO, and Meritor. They moved into the city of Fairfield in the summer of 1988 before retiring to Palestine, TX in 2004.
Doyle was an active member of the Fairfield Friends Church, serving in numerous capacities. Currently he attended The Evangelistic Temple in Palestine, TX. In his spare time, Doyle coached little league baseball and enjoyed volunteering and helping those in need. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, but his greatest joy was attending his grandchildren's activities.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Sue Heston; a daughter Sherri and Bob McReynolds of Fairfield; three sons, Phillip and Cathy Heston of Whitefish Bay, WI, Mark and Jill Heston of Ankeny, IA, and Matthew and Tammy Heston of Knoxville, IA.
Doyle was grandfather to Josh and Stacey McReynolds of Clarence, IA, Adam McReynolds of Ames, IA, Carter Heston of Whitefish Bay, WI, Ely, Abigail and Alexandra Heston of Ankeny, IA and Connor Heston of Knoxville, IA and one great-grandson, Ethan McReynolds of Clarence, IA.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Kenneth and Richard.
